Edith Martin Smith Knight, age 91, of Demopolis died September 25, 2012 at her home. Services will be
at 11 am Thursday, September 27, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Demopolis with burial following at
Riverside Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at the family home.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, A.A. (Doc) Knight and her son, A.A. Knight, jr
(Andy). She is survived by her son Bill Knight (Betty) of Fackler, Alabama; daughter Kitty Eddins (Cotton)
of Demopolis, and son Steven Knight of Ellijay, Georgia. She is also survived by grandchildren Paige
Knight of Florida; Billy Knight (Becca) of Jefferson, Georgia; Amy Knight Haney (Bob) of Horse Cave,
Kentucky; Bill Eddins (Jennifer) of Sarah, Mississippi; Andy Eddins (Dana) and Betsy Eddins Stephens
(Kirk) of Demopolis; Sally Eddins of Memphis, Tenessee; and great-grandchildren Logan and Will Knight
of Jefferson, Georgia; Rob Eddins of Sarah, Mississippi; Anderson Eddins and Bill, Molly Martin, and Ed
Stephens of Demopolis.
She was born in Wetumpka, Alabama but spent her entire adult life in West Alabama, where she and
Mr. Knight made many friends in the schools and communities they served. In lieu of flowers, the family
