Edward Brewer Phillips, 94, of Demopolis, Alabama, died January 25, 2017, in Monroeville, Alabama. Mr. Phillips was born May 16, 1922, in Thomaston, Alabama, to the late George Washington and Nora Jones Phillips. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Earleane Ducksworth Phillips, a daughter Sondra Couch, and 2 sisters Ella Rhodes and Cecil Joyner. Mr. Phillips leaves behind a large, loving, and close family beginning with a daughter Lynn Agee ( Dean ) of Monroeville, Alabama; 2 sons Mack Phillips ( Betty ) of Bailey, MS and Larry Phillips ( Linda ) of Gallion, Alabama; 2 sisters Louise Ford of Gallion, Alabama and Beatrice Shaw of Minot, ND; a brother Thomas Phillips of Fairhope, Alabama; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Rangeline Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 till 12:50 with the service beginning at 1. Randall Smith and Don Smith will be officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel will be directing. Burial will follow the service at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will include Bryan Allen, Michael Griffin, John Halkias, Tim Adkins, Michael Phillips, and Duane Andrews.
