Strudwick Young Tutwiler, II

GREENSBORO - Mr. Strudwick Young Tutwiler, II, age 92, died December 12, 2017 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

He was born in Greensboro, Ala. to Pascal Ashe Tutwiler, Jr. and Virginia Pope Tutwiler.

After graduation from Auburn University, he made his home in Greensboro as a dairy farmer and was recognized as an exemplary farmer by ALFA. He was a dedicated member of Greensboro First Presbyterian Church, Sunday school teacher and Deacon Emeritus, reading his Bible daily.

Mr. Tutwiler was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Virginia Lankford (Lewis), Pascal Ashe Tutwiler, III (Elizabeth), Dr. Elizabeth Coyle (Jack) and Rosalie McCool (James).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret Deal Tutwiler (Margie); daughter of Joseph N. Deal and Carrie Deal, originally of Cottonwood; his four children, Linda Dunkin (Bob), Virginia “Jenny” Nix (Terry), Strudwick “Trey” Young Tutwiler, III (Lou Ann) and Amy Burch (Bradley); his seven grandchildren, Dr. Strudwick Tutwiler (Allison), Dr. Young Tutwiler (Jeana), Ashe Tutwiler, Dr. Jessica Nix Unterkofler (Jonathan), Garrett Nix, Cara Burch, Trent Burch; and two great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside funeral service will be held with Kirk Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greensboro First Presbyterian Church or to the Children’s Hospital, Birmingham, Ala.
