Benjamin Franklin Carter 81, of Marion, passed away January 8, 2018, at Southland Nursing Home in Marion. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday January 11, 2018, from Open Door Faith Chapel with Rev. Gervis Smith officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Ivah Bible Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

He was born January 29, 1936, in Perry County to Jack and Celie LaGrone Carter.

He was preceded by his parents; 1st wife, Lavada Graves; 2nd wife, Madylen Barton; brother, Alvin Carter; grandchild, Timothy Carter.

Survivors are his daughters, Linda Gail Collum (Travis) and Evie Diane Oglesby (Norman); grandchildren, Dalton Colburn, Misty Colburn, Brandy Colburn Baity and Allen Oglesby; great grandchildren; Alyssa Carol Bailey, Justin Case Bailey, Braden Cooper Rinehart, Matthew Oglesby and Elina Oglesby.

pallbearers will be Norman Oglesby, Allen Oglesby, Dalton Colburn, Zack Rinehart, T.J. Bailey and travis Collum.
