John C Brister Jr. 86, of Demopolis, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday November 13, 2018, at home.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Billie Stephens Brister; his sons, Tom (Lesa) Brister and Tim (Susan) Brister; brother, Jerry (Polly) Brister; 6 grandchildren ; 7 great grandchildren.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Demopolis, where he was a deacon.

He faithfully served his course as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

A special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice, especially to Hillary McDowell R.N., Jaime Flowers R.N., Rev. Robert Pearce Jr., Jeanette Gray H.A, Savanna Cannon M.S.W. and Willie Taylor.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church designated for Lottie Moon Missions.

Services will be held Friday November 16, 2018, at 11 a.m from First Baptist Church with Rev Carl Williams officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
