Obituary for Minnie Beeker Elliott

Minnie Evelyn Beeker Elliott 88, of Eutaw, passed away at her home 2 April 2017. Minnie was born 22 October 1928 in Eutaw, Alabama to Fred Robert and Christie Laverne (Reed) Beeker. After graduating from Greene County High School, she married William Edward (Bill) Elliott Sr. on 27 October 1946. They settled in Eutaw and had six children. A well-known seamstress, she was the proprietor of the Elliott’s Fabric Center in downtown Eutaw. For several decades, Minnie delivered the Tuscaloosa Newspaper in the local area. She loved the outdoors, swimming, biking, and softball.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bill; five children: William Elliott Jr. (Robin), Donna Elliott, and Fred Elliott (Amy) all of Eutaw; Janet Elliott Massey (Larry) of Northport; and Cheryl Elliott-Dawe (Lloyd) of Johnston, SC; her brother Chris Beeker of Eutaw; her sister-in-laws Mary Hamiter, Maxine Elliott, and Sue Burford; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Fred Beeker, Reed Beeker, and John Beeker; her sister Ina Merle Brannon; and her infant daughter.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. 10 April 2017, at the Eutaw Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Williams officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in the Mesopotamia Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
