David Wayne Hampton Sr. 68, of Cottondale, formerly of Gallion passed away September 14, 2017, at Druid City Hospital. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday September 17, 2017, from Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

David was born May 11, 1949, in Hayti, Mo., to Stevie Henry and Lorene Lowe Hampton.

He was preceded by his father; brother, Gray Hampton.

Survivors are his sons, David Wayne Hampton Jr. of Bellamy and Stevie Eugene Hampton of Decatur, Ga.; mother, Lorene Lowe Hampton; sisters, Laverne Smith, Jackie White, Donna Strickland and Debrah Hampton; brother, Jeff Hampton; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Casper, Lane Casper, Raymond Low, Myron Low, Perry Smith, Calvin Low, Jack Turk and Terry Tomlinson.
