Obituary for Margie Lou Hankins Owings

Margie Lou Hankins Owings 85, of Demopolis, passed away April 4, 2018, at Druid City Hospital. Services will be held April 7, 2018, at 11 a.m from Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with Rev. David Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

She was born June 19, 1932, in Belk, Al., to John Burris and Suzie Ellen McDonald Hankins.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucion Vandiver "Tim" Owings; sisters, Vola Mize, Addine Stephens, Jean Reynolds, Eloise Parker, Blanche Miller and Madge Moore; brother, Charles Hankins.

Survivors are her daughters, Margaret Ann "Sissy" Hagler of Demopolis, Catherine Owings (Connie) Dennis of Canton, Ga., and Margie Owings "Marty" Brown of Demopolis; sons, Lucion Keith Owings (Kathy) of Demopolis and William Toby Owings of Gallion; grandchildren, Angie Hurt (Daryl), Austin Hagler (Elizabeth), Eric Owings, Leslie Lawhon (Kevin), Zane Dennis, Chloe Dennis, Heather Owings (Clyde), Ashley Owings, Mary Frances Brown, and Ellen Brown; great grandchildren, Violet Herring, Hank Lawhon, Grady Lawhon, Ethan Owings, Taylor Hurt, Seth Hurt, Noah Huff, and Elijah Huff; special nieces, Judy Hankins Dunn and Susan Parker Christensen.

Paulbearers will be Zane Dennis, Wayne Dennis, Dennis Dunn, Clark Christensen, Clyde Yelverton, Gary Brown, Austin Hagler, and Josh Fields.
