Chris Vernon Beeker, age 97, of Eutaw, died May 1, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw with Rev. Gene Dockery officiating and Kirk funeral homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Visitation will be held following the service at Eutaw Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nell Stephens Beeker; parents, Fred and Christie Beeker; brothers, Fred, Reed and John Beeker; sisters, Ina Merle Brannon and Minnie Evelyn Elliott; grandson, Reed Ballard.

He is survived by his children, Janell Wright, Chris Beeker, Jr. (Teresa), Susan Ballard (Dale), Steve Beeker (Patti), and David Beeker (Missy); grandchildren, Beth and David Weissinger, Diana Browning (Brandon), Inge Beeker (Elizabeth), Chris Beeker, III ( Carlley), Christian Foster (David), Chris Ballard (Kim), Leigh Ann Stewart (Chris), Elizabeth Bambarger, Reed Beeker (Christie), Rita Ferrin (Joey), April Beeker (Travis Birchmore) and Michael Beeker (Samantha); 28 great grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dot Bonner, Elizabeth Clark, Gilbert and Mary Norwood, Lane Sears, Robert Tillman, his domino buddies, Bennie Abrams, Tommy Porter, and Dennis Stripling.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Eutaw Baptist Church or the charity of one's choice.
