Kathy Cain Carpenter Coleman 63, of Sawyerville, passed away May 6, 2018, at Hale County Hospital. Services will be held May 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. from Greensboro Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Vernon officiating and Kirk funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

She was born January 27, 1955, in Columbus, Ga., to James Fredrick and Margie Cain Smith Carpenter.


Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Emily Carpenter Davis.

Survivors are her Husband, but Harris M. Coleman Jr.; daughters, Kelli Coleman Bergman (Jon) of Scottsboro and Kristi Joyce Coleman of Opelika; mother in law, Gladys Seale Coleman; sisters, Janice Henderson Warren (Ernie) of Phenix City.; brother, James Fredrick Carpenter, Jr. (Lynda) of Stockbridge, Ga.; brother in law, Kenneth Davis of Phenix City; sister in law, Mary Coleman Lawson of Greensboro; grandchildren, Mary Jacob's Bergman and Jon Riggs Bergman Jr.; special friends, Ollie Williams and Georgia Williams.

Pallbearers will be Jim Matthews, Ken Davis, Mitchell Matthews, Matt Perdue, Clay Gullatt, Jon Bergman, Rhett Cooper, and William Holmes.

Honorary pallbearers are Southern Care Hospice and Hale County Hospital Staff.
