Elmer Howell Nichols 89, of Marion, passed away May 2, 2019, at his residence. Services will be held Saturday May 4, 2019, at 11 a.m. from Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel with Rev. Len Hurston officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

He was born June 20, 1929, in Perry County to Phelan and Lovie Osburn Nichols.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Berniece Nichols; daughter, Pam Nichols Mitchell; sister, Rae Whitmer; brothers, Goodwin Nichols and Woodfin C Nichols.

Surviving Elmer is his wife, Nell Marie Nichols; daughter, Elaine Nichols Miller (Ben) and Debbie Gressett; son, Johnny Williams (Lisa); son in law, Barry Mitchell; sister in law, Ruby Nichols; grandchildren: Catlin Miller, Tyler Mitchell(Joanna), Whitney Mitchell, Clay Dean(Amy), Mandy Carmello(Chris), Daniel Williams(Kristy), Barry Williams(Lisa), Mark Williams, Jessie Carney(Brandon), Dee Finch; 6 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Catlin Miller, Tyler Mitchell, David Wallace, Corin Harrison Jr., Barry Mitchell, and Clay Dean.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lucius Rayfield, Don White, Dr Shane Lee and Staff, Eva Mae Luckey, Eddie Benjamin, and Edward Miree.
