Obituary for Richard Royster
Richard Harley Royster 75, of Marion, passed away May 7, 2019, at his residence. Services will be held May 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. from Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. John Nicholson and Rev. George Washburn. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel is directing.
He was born June 4, 1943, in Perry County, to the Hasten James and Ora Mae Nichols Royster.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Royster, Leonard Royster, and James Royster.
Surviving Richard is his wife, Shirley Ann Hartley Royster; daughter, Sonya Royster Henry (Luke); sister, Elise Mae Johnson, Geraldine Skinner, Shirley Hobson, and Christine Lawson; sister in law, Thomasine Royster; brothers, Clarence Royster (Vinnie) and Pete Royster (Kay); grandchildren, Dylan Henry and Justin Henry.
Pallbearers will be Brad Hobson, Chase Hobson, Johnny Swindal, Scott Swindal, S B Pope, Little Pete Royster, Johnathon Royster, Cody Royster, and Colby Royster.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alabama Children Hospital Foundation, 1600 7th Ave. South, Birmingham, Al., 35233.
