Obituary for Dr. Paul Ketcham

Paul Franklin Ketcham, MD, physician and former mayor of the city of Demopolis, Alabama from 1972 to 1976, died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at age 84. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. at the First Methodist Church of Demopolis. Visitation is at 9 a.m. just prior to the service.

Ketcham was a native of Lineville, Alabama and completed his schooling at Birmingham Southern College and University of Alabama Medical School. He practiced medicine in Demopolis from 1961 through 2012 by delivering babies, doing surgery, treating families, making house calls, and responding to medical needs in the community. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church lending his baritone voice to the church and community for nearly 60 years.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ann Lindbergh Ketcham, his siblings, Ann Ketcham Ingram and Charles Oscar Ketcham, his daughters, Paula Denise Ketcham Driscoll (Timothy), Lori Michele Ketcham Giles (Albert), and Melissa Ann Ketcham Beach (Todd), grandchildren, Meredith Lindbergh Giles Waldrop, Albert Fletcher Giles, III, Andrew Tyler Watts, Neil Edward Driscoll, Spencer Ketcham Turnbull, Margaret Reeve Turnbull, Ann Lilburn Turnbull, and great grandchildren, Norman Erskine Waldrop, IV, Robert Lindbergh Waldrop, Albert Fletcher Giles, IV, and Hardy Thompson Giles.
