Obituary for Katie Mae Ward Thomas
Katie Mae Ward Thomas 86, of Gallion, passed away Wednesday June 26, 2019, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. Services will be held Friday June 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. from Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with Dr. Reid Ward officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Katie was born July 16, 1932, in Mississippi, to Eddie and Zelma Moreland Ward.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Michael Thomas; sister, Ruth Levitz.
Surviving Katie is her son, Douglas Wayne Thomas (Serita); sister, Ann Bedsole (Joe); brothers, Jimmy Ward (Brenda), James Ward, and Johnny Ray "Zeke" Ward (Jackie); grandchildren, 6; great grandchildren, 14.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Freeman, Gene Sammons, Wayne Tucker, Kelly Glosson, Richard Coats, and Todd Ward.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lisa Browning, Kellie Browning, Reggie Browning, and Josh Moulds.
