Obituary for Edward Perry Lavender

Edward "Ed" Perry Lavender (age 87), died peacefully on July 24, 2019 at Colonial Haven. A graveside service will be held in memory of Ed at Ramey's Chapel on Thursday, July 25, 2019, 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Vernon officiating and Kirk Funeral Home directing.

Ed was born in Moundville, Alabama on February 20, 1932 and was the son of the late Francis M. Lavender II and the late Edwina Perry Lavender. He Proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Ed retired from TOM's Food, Inc. after over 25 years of service in Nashville, Tennessee and moved back home to Greensboro, Alabama shortly thereafter.

Ed was such an amazing man and will always be remembered for his love of family, hunting, football and a good game of dominoes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Lavender; brothers John D. Lavender and Francis M, Lavender III, as well as brothers-in-law Morris Williams and Richard Smith. He is survived by his sisters Marvis L. Richey (Jimmy); Donna L. Williams (Morris) and Linda L. Smith (William); his brothers, James Lavender (Glenda), Ben Lavender (Louise), Andy Lavender (Donna). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Haven who provided such wonderful care for Mr. Lavender.
