Obituary for Doris Ann Bley Attaway
Doris Ann Bley Attaway, age 72, died peacefully on July 29, 2019, at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis. She was born April 24, 1947, to Henry" Buddy " and Dorothy Pyle Bley.
Doris begin her life in Demopolis, Al., After graduating from Demopolis High Schoolin 1965, Doris attended Carraway Methodist School of Nursing in Birmingham. Upon graduation , she began a 45 year career in Nursing and Ultrasonography.
In 1970, Doris married the love of her life, Huel Dale Attaway, Jr. and together had two children. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She had a passion for many things including her family, the Episcopal Church and caring for others. She retired in 2012 from Fitz-Gerald and Perret Clinic after a 36 year career there.
She is survived by her loving husband Dale, and their children, Matt (Ria) Attaway and Amie (Richard) Miller. She leaves lasting memories as "Lola Doris" to her 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Webb, and Charles Gray Miller and Ella, Avery, and Matt Attaway Jr. as well as a number of other loving relatives and close friends.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 31, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Rev. J.D.Barnes officiating and KIrk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you consider making a donation to the American Alzheimers Foundation or Charity of ones choice.
