L J "John Earl" Averette 81, of Uniontown, passed away October 24, 2019, at his residence. Services will be held October 27, 2019, at 2 p.m. from Uniontown Church of God with Rev. Grey Snodgrass, Rev. Robert Walker and Rev. Dale Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Hoboken Cemetery at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday October 26, 2019, at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel.

He was born January 13, 1938, in Bibb County, to John and Ollie Watkins Averette.

John Earl was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Averette.

Surviving John Earl are his wife, Melissa Snodgrass; daughter, Diane Walker (Wallace Walker Jr.) of Faunsdale; son, Wayne Averette of Sprott and Norman Averette (Kelly) of Providence; daughter in law, Tina Averette; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be Richard Averette, Raymon Averette, Don Ballard, Zachery Sanders,Shane McLaughlin, and Mark Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Jordan, David Averette, and Glenn Johnson.
