Carolyn Madaris Payne, 83, of Demopolis, AL went to her eternal home on December 8, 2020. She was born on February 23, 1937 in Tuscaloosa County, AL to Jesse James Madaris, Sr. and Martha Louise Madaris Gray. She was retired from Vanity Fair Mills and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Joseph William Lins and James Payne III; and her son Joseph Michael Lins. She is survived by three sons: Robert W. Lins, James Patrick Lins (Leigh), and Joseph W. Lins (Dawn); and her brother, Jesse James Madaris, Jr. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the Kirk Funeral Homes Chapel in Demopolis. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Demopolis Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Scott Fulford officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Pallbearers are: Joshua Lins, Tyler Lins, Jonathan Lins, Kadden Mitchell, Dalton Mitchell, and Danny Gates. Honorary pallbearers are: Fizgerald and Perrett Clinic and Southern Care.
