Obituary for Gerald W Pruett
Mr. Gerald W. Pruett, 85 of Calhoun, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 as a result of Covid-19. He was born on April 3, 1935 in Uniontown, AL where he made his home for 84 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallie Pruett and Evelyn Megginson Pruett; son Jeffrey Wayne Pruett; and son-in-law Jeffrey Wayne Kurtti. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Martha Bailey Pruett; loving children: Jerry Pruett (Carol) of Calhoun, Ga and Lisa Pruett Kurtti of Blairsville, GA; sisters Shelmerdene Folsom of Loxley, AL and Luverne Ratliff of Demopolis, AL; and his brother Eddie Pruett of Uniontown. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Callie and Austin Norrell, Matthew Pruett, James and Rhea Kurtti.
Gerald loved hunting and fishing. He dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed. Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the Uniontown Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 3:00 and interment will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown with Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be: Jerry Pruett, Matthew Pruett, Eddie Pruett, Sr., Justin Pruett, Mickey Folsom, and Austin Norrell.
Honorary Pallbearers are: James Kurtti, Billy Dunklin, Hubert Hoggle and Eddie Pruett, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a cancer foundation.
