Harlan Eugene "Gene" Fowler, 83 of Demopolis, AL went to his eternal home on September 6, 2021. He was born on January 7, 1938 in Arkansas to Brutus A. Fowler and Effie Fowler. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served for eight years. At that time, he made the move to Demopolis to work for Gulf States Paper until his retirement in 2000.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Harold Fowler and Hubert Fowler, and one sister, Lois Herren. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Fowler; his sister, Carolyn Miles (Ronald); his son Randy Fowler (Pam) of Demopolis; daughters: Donna Bozeman (Scott) of Demopolis, and Kim Childers (Lance) of Skipperville, AL. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Kelly Coleman (Coley), Kory Fields (Skip), Kendall Ferrell (Trey), and Michael Bozeman as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Kirk Funeral Homes Chapel in Demopolis. Graveside service will follow at the Demopolis Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 11:00 am with Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel directing.

Pallbearers are: Michael Bozeman, Scott Bozeman, Skip Fields, Trey Ferrell, Ashton Gray, and Daniel Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers are the Men's 4 Sunday School Class at Fairhaven Baptist Church.
