Mary Gene Kirk Vaughan, 92 of Marion, AL went to her eternal home on September 16, 2021. She was born on February 24, 1929 in Pickens County, AL to Homer and Alice Brandon Kirk. She was a florist and a sales clerk. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Thomas Vaughan for 73 years.

She is predeceased by her parents; her husband; her sisters: Doris Kirk Horton and Hazel Kirk; and her brothers: Norman Kirk, Lawrence Kirk, Sr., and Charles Kirk.

She is survived by her children: Phillip Vaughan, Wanda Vaughan Green, Yancy Vaughan-Groshans, Dawn Vaughan Zahedi, Tracy Vaughan and Vikki Vaughan Rodgers; her grandchildren: Brandon Vaughan, Shawna Green, Whitney Green Goode, Hannah Zahedi-Lee, Anisley Rodgers, and Grayson Rodgers; her great-grandchildren: Hayley Green, Kelsey Green, Kirklynn Vaughan, Carolyn Vaughan, Tanner Baker, Ulman Goode and Bonnie Gene Lee; her sisters Sue Kirk and Ferrel Kirk Smith; and her brother Harry Glen Kirk.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2:30 to 3:30 at Marion Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 pm at Pine Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marion with Mr. Jonathan A. Goode presiding and Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel directing.
