Obituary for Charles Vernon Snipes
Charles Vernon Snipes, 90 of Demopolis, AL went to his eternal home on October 4, 2021. He was born on January 9, 1931 in Moundville, AL to Floyd Mitchell Snipes and Lily Mae Massengale Snipes.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ramona Glover Snipes; and his sons Charles Edward Snipes (Peggy), and Mitchell Wade Snipes (Amanda). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Brantley Elizabeth Snipes, Margaret Affleck Snipes, Amanda Bell (James), Mallory Johnson (Paul), Andrew Snipes, Amzie Snipes; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the Kirk Funeral Homes Chapel in Demopolis. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 at Demopolis Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Bill Elwell and Rev. Robert Pearce officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be: Paul Johnson, James Bell, Andrew Snipes, Britton Andrews, Carson Jordan, and Walton Washburn. Honorary pallbearers are: Comfort Care Hospice; First United Methodist Church - SALT; and caregivers: Elaine Dunning, Gwen Allen, Willow "Nell" Raby, and Danyel Hill.
