Obituary for Mary Nell Hughey (Hughey)
Mary Nell Hughey, 87 of Ramer, AL went to her eternal home on June 13, 2022. She was born on October 16, 1934 in Sprott, AL to Willard Dewitt Hughey and Elizabeth Plummer Hughey. She was a loving mother and housewife and worked in retail sales at Sikes and Kohns.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Patsy H Robinson; and her brothers: Jerry Hughey, John P. "Doc" Hughey, Craig Hughey, and Dewitt Hughey. She is survived by her husband, Murray Hughey of Ramer, AL; her daughter, Sherri Hughey Thiry of Thompson's Station, TN; her sons: Mike Hughey (Martha) of Semmes, AL, and Stacy Hughey (Stephanie) of Valley Grande, AL. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Amy Kiker, Justin Hughey, Natalie Johnson, and Brandon Hughey as well as five great grandchildren: Austin Myles, Abby Kiker, Peyton Johnson, Rhett Johnson, and Crawford Hughey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at Pine Level Baptist Church in Ramer, AL with with Rev. Bob Dempsey officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel directing. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 pm at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery in Sprott, AL with Josh Watford officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Hughey, Brandon Hughey, Nathan Johnson, Gerald Hughey, Randy Hughey, and Steve Hughey. Honorary pallbearers are: Chad Hughey and Gary Salter.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to: Pine Level Baptist Church, PO Box 5, Ramer, AL 36065 or Ephesus Baptist Church, 26965 Hwy 183, Marion, AL 36756.
