Ellie Touchard Hanners, 81 of Demopolis, AL passed away on September 27, 2022. She was born on June 19, 1941 in New Orleans, LA to Beatrice Joly and Joseph Touchard. Ms. Ellie was a secretary at Chalmette Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay Dell Hanners; and her brother Joey Touchard (Opal) of Houma, LA.

She is survived by her children: Cindy Maag (David) of Chalmette LA, Wendy Wolfe (Clay) and Gary Rabalias (Tammy) of Demopolis, Paula Guerra and family of St. Bernard, LA, and her brother, Patrick Touchard, Sr. (Nan) of SC.

She has six grandchildren: Benjamin Stolz of New Orleans, LA, Alexandra Magg and Nicholas Maag of Chalmette, Murphy Rabalais of Demopolis, Steve Jackson (Emily) of Susan Moore, AL and Jamie Jackson (Gianna) of Penngrove, CA.

She also has two great-grandchildren: Kaelyn Stolz of Tuscaloosa, AL and Isla Jackson of Penngrove, CA.

A memorial will be announced at a later date directed by Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Woodhaven Nursing Home of Demopolis, and to Marilyn Williams and Tammy Williams for taking such good care of our "Mom".

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to the Helen Keller School in Talladega, AL to benefit her grandson, Murphy Rabalais.
