Obituary for Robert Randall Owens
Robert Randall Owens, 74 of Demopolis, AL went to his eternal home on October 9, 2022. He was born on July 28, 1948 in Selma, AL to Ruth Wigger Owens and Obie J. Owens.
Robert was a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded many medals including: Meritorious Service medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation medal, Good Conduct medal with one silver and one bronze oak leaf cluster and National Defense Service medal among many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, James Owens. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Grayson Owens and his daughter, Ruth Owens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Kirk Funeral Homes Chapel in Demopolis. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 am, also at the chapel. Graveside services will follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Arthur Thomas officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be: WIlliam K. Bamberg, Jr., Dustin Cook, Daniel L. Bamberg, Brian Thomas, Billy Bedsole, and Matthew Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be: Wayne Williams, Richard Bamberg, Frank Thomas, Robert Bamberg, Roger Perry, and Bobby Cook.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Wounded Warriors or the Diabetes Foundation.
