Ruth Ann Shaw Smith Johnson, 73, of Gallion, died February 3, 2017, at her residence. She was born January 7, 1944 in Demopolis , Alabama, to the late Billy Sunday and Jessie Mae Hannah Shaw. She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Bibb J. Smith, jr. She is survived by her husband James Johnson, Sr. of Gallion; sister in laws Elouise Duncan of Demopolis, Elizabeth Lindsey of Gallion, and Gloria Reid of Hayden; step mother Dorothy Shaw; 4 step children; 9 step grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 1:50 and the service will begin at 2. Burial will follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Brother Paul Whitcomb will be officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel will be directing. Active pallbearers will be Raiford Duncan, Mike Shiney, Mike McAlpine, John Paul Ward, James Johnson, jr., Doug Reid, Bobby Hannah, and Jimmy Hannah. Honorary pallbearers will be Bernice Johnson, Linda Massey, Anna McAlpine, John Northcutt, Billy Treager, jr., and the staff at Dr. Fitzgerald clinic.
