David Allen Stewart, 60, of Marion, Alabama, died June 11, 2017 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

David was born November 3, 1956 in Marion to the late Erskine R. and Mary Alice Hale Stewart.

He is survived by his loving wife Malinda Moore Stewart; daughter Amy Leigh Stewart Smitherman ( Cody ); son James Allen Stewart ( Tabitha ); sisters Diane Fretwell ( Bill ) and Mary Jo Nichols; brother Erskine R. Stewart, jr ( Cynthia ); and one grandchild Peyton Leigh Smitherman.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 11 am at Marion United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Heiberger United Methodist Church cemetery. The Rev. Misty Barrett will officiate and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel will direct.

Active pallbearers will be Ronald Hughey, Greg Nichols, William Nichols, William Perkins, Ingram Thornton, Chad Wilson, Michael Bovis, and Lee Dunkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Boy Scouts of America Troop 322, Dr. William Shane Lee, M.D. and the staff at Marion Clinic, NRCS, and FSA staff.
