Laurel Ann Spurlin Crawford 79, of Demopolis, passed away November12, 2017, at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday November16, 2017, at Gallion Baptist Church with Rev. Hank Atchison and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 15, 2017, from to 7 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel.

She was born May 16, 1938, in Tifton, Ga., to Walter Crawford and Estelle Connor Spurlin.

Laurel was preceded by her parents; husband, James Walter Crawford.

Survivors are her daughters, Karen Crawford Howell (Arch) of Greenwood, Ms. and Kelley Crawford Slappey (Todd) of Decatur, Ga.; grandchildren, Haley Howell Goodman (Kenneth) of Jackson, Ms., Austin Archer Howell of Jackson, Tn., Laura Connor Slappey of Athens, Ga. and John Crawford Slappey of Auburn, Al; great grandchild, Anne Archer Goodman of Jackson, Ms.

Pallbearers will be John Spurlin, Joe Spurlin, Kevin Belflower, Larry Cowart, Mark Baker and Kenny Freeman.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Laurel's Bridge Friends.
