There are two dates on a headstone. A birthdate and a date of death. Every human being is guaranteed those two dates. But the little dash between those two numbers is what defines our lives. Kenneth Nathaniel Vice November 12, 1936-August 25, 2018 Kenneth's dash consisted of being a son, a brother, a husband, a dad and step-dad, a papa, an uncle, a friend and a child of God. Those are just a few. He was my step-dad--someone that loved me unconditionally with his whole heart. I will miss him so much. It's hard when you miss people. But, you know, if you miss them it means you were lucky. It means that you had someone special in your life--someone worth missing. We all wish for one more conversation, one more chance to make up for the times when we thought they would be with us forever. We are going to lose people in our lives and we will realize no matter how much time we spent with them or how much we appreciate them--it will never be enough. I think the hardest part of losing someone isn't having to say goodbye but rather learning to live without them. Always trying to fill the void-the emptiness that's left inside us--inside our hearts. Kenneth-you never had any idea how many smiles you brought to my heart. I know that you loved me and I sure hope you knew that I loved you. No matter how much all of us here on earth loved you-God loved you more. He kept His promise and He came and took you home--your eternal home. Sending love and hugs to Heaven !!
